The house, situated in Alanallur, Palakkad, celebrates traditional Kerala architecture with a formal layout focused on a central courtyard. The design prioritizes natural ventilation and daylight, in line with historic Kerala homes. The client's wish to create a home surrounded by friends and relatives' houses influenced the planning. The 3,600 sq.ft ancestral property, part of agricultural land, is primarily used by the client's mother.

The design maximizes natural light and ventilation, with a central courtyard regulating the microclimate and ensuring accessibility. The layout integrates spaces around the courtyard, with dining and living areas opening onto a sit-out courtyard. Verandahs add a traditional Kerala tharavadu charm.

Interiors blend traditional and modern finishes, incorporating reclaimed furnishings and Rattan cane weaving. Classic architectural details mix with contemporary features, and materials like Kota green and Jaisalmer yellow flooring pay homage to tradition. A retractable shading system in the courtyard allows for rain and breezy winds, adorned with terracotta jaalis for a dynamic play of shadows.

The exterior features a classic sloped roof with steel truss work and clay tiles. Cobblestone pavement seamlessly blends with the landscape, which includes alocasia plants, coconut trees, and heliconia, presenting a rich blend of tradition and modernity.
